Shortly after entering high school, Haruna becomes determined to find a boyfriend under the influence of all the shoujo manga she reads. She accidentally meets Yoh after a failed attempt at being "picked up" by guys and asks him to coach her on how to be more attractive. After some prodding, Yoh finally accepts to teach her under two conditions; one: she mustn’t cry, and two: she cannot fall in love with him. She eagerly accepts, and the two start training.
